Maritime Safety
The Police Maritime Group is responsible for coordinating all search and rescue missions within Tonga’s territorial waters. We also lead a range of measures to address maritime offences and security risks.
- Prevention, detection, and enforcement of maritime related offences (illegal fishing, boat theft).
- Conducting security checks on local and international vessels.
- Joint security and enforcement patrols alongside other government agencies.
